Location
Mũi Né fishing village sits on a sandy cape backed by rolling dunes. A long beach, with a one-street strip of hotels, stretches south.
The Anantara sits at its far end – in the quietest area and next to the best strip of sand. The nearest international airport is Ho Chi Minh City, four hours south. The railway station (15 minutes away at Phan Thiet) connects to Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh and a string of cities in between.
Style and Character
The Anantara strives to be a resort you won’t want to leave. By day it’s a great spot to soak up the sun or build sandcastles on the beach (with occasional cooling dips in the bathwater-calm turquoise sea), or lounge on the poolside sundecks paperback in hand. By night the resort is intimate and romantic. Night flowers open in the garden, wafting scents of frangipani and jasmine over the lambent pool and shoreline bar. Low lighting ensures your attention is on the stars, the moonlight and the lantern-lit fishing boats bobbing offshore.
Service and Facilities
Staff are attentive, cater to every whim and miraculously seem to know the first names of every guest. The hotel aims to offer all you might need – with a fitness centre, meeting and wedding facilities, cooking classes, a children’s club and a tour desk offering tours around Mũi Né (to temples, dunes and national parks) and watersports in front of the resort. The spa is one of the best in Vietnam, with a suite of treatment rooms (some of which have private steam rooms and whirlpool baths) and a range of aromatic rubs, herb-infused soaks and massage treatments.

Rooms
Spacious rooms sit in the low-rise main resort building and in terracotta-roofed villas dotted around the garden. All come in dark-polished wood and cream, with luxurious Egyptian cotton on the beds, piles of pillows and daubs of colour from orange counterpanes and scatter-cushions.
Generous bathrooms have whirlpool tubs and showers. Villas have private plunge-pools, dining rooms and one or two bedrooms. The largest houses up to six adults and two children.
Food and Drink
Breakfasts are a south-east Asian smorgasbord of sweet and savoury rice dishes, noodles, soups, European pastries, yoghurts and cold meats. There’s an egg station, ample fruit and a choice of at least three tropical juices. Two restaurants offer Vietnamese and European cooking.
